Introducing Villaintober Mayhem!

Villaintober-Mayhem-logo

And the big announcement is finally here! Starting this October is another Disney Elimination challenge–inspired by the Disney March Madness–that will open for voting on the 1st. The catch is, all of the 64 contestants in this game will be villains from many different Disney movies.

Most of the much loved stories that Disney puts out wouldn’t be much without the villain propelling the story forward and being a character with whom can combat the heroes. Without them the stories would not be nearly as amazing as they are and Villaintober Mayhem is a celebration of them and a contest to find who is the fan favorite villain this year.

The four categories will be named Phantom Manor, Mystic Manor, Haunted Mansion, and Tower of Terror after four Disney park haunted houses across the globe. Leading these will be the four major villains Maleficent, Jafar, Hades, and Ursula. The rest of the contestants will be revealed during the month of September, so remember to check back again! Here are the character descriptions for the leaders: (click to enlarge)

I hope you are all as excited as I am about this! In the comments you can try and guess who some of the villains are who will be taking some of the remaining 60 spots!

Also, if you haven’t yet, I encourage you to sign up for the mailing list. Here you will be one of the first to hear about any news about Villaintober Mayhem. Below is the signup.

Future Contestant Suggestions

Unused-Characters

Possible Future Contestants

The Disney March Madness has only went on for two year, but so far numerous characters have participated. But there also many who have never been in the game. Sometimes it is good to hear what other people think, so if you think some of the characters in the image above (or others that are not portrayed but you wish to see) should participate, vote in the poll below or head down to the comments section below and leave a comment saying your suggestion. Also, do not worry that your character suggestion might be too silly or obscure as the more suggestions I get the better. There are no bad suggestions.

Basically, if there is a character you have been disappointed in not seeing so far please suggest in the comments section. Otherwise vote in this poll and see which of these characters should possibly be contestants in the 2016 Disney March Madness.

STITCH!!!

giphy-1

Stitch, the lovable alien also known as Experiment 626, has been gaining popularity since the debut of his feature film Lilo & Stitch back in 2002 and become one of Disney’s most recognizable characters. With his adorable charm yet fearsome powers, he is definitely deserving of the title of Disney March Madness 2015 Champion! He will join Elsa along with many other victors for years to come. MAGIC KINGDOM vs. ANIMAL KINGDOM

A showdown of epic proportions happened this past week with Magic Kingdom’s Flynn Rider and Animal Kingdom’s Tigger facing off in a battle to who would make it into the Championships. In the end, though, the bouncy tiger will move on, leaving Flynn Rider far behind in the dust.

EPCOT vs. HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Likewise, Flynn’s counterpart and EPCOT’s victor, Rapunzel, was defeated by Hollywood Studios’ Stitch who will face Tigger in the final battle for victor in the Championships. This is the last and final round, so choose wisely because whoever wins this next round will become victor.

Final Four (Round 5)

Disney-March-Madness-2015-bracket-5

Bracket for Round 5

Over the last four days the voting has been tough with some very close calls as the Elite Eight were narrowed down into Round 5, or what is often called the Final Four. This is a big moment, so I think it’d be a good time to stop and just think about what these characters have went through so far. Four rounds have come and go to decide who would stand in their places and I think from the general consensus that this has been a great experience for all. If you are one of those, consider sharing this with others and joining the mailing list if you haven’t already because I have some surprises I’m hoping I’ll be able to spring upon you after March Madness is over. Enjoy the Final Four and choose wisely because this round decides who makes it into the final Championship round.

MAGIC KINGDOM

The representative for the Magic Kingdom has been decided by the many voters who populate these polls at this time of year. In the end, though, Flynn Rider was able to evade Belle and become the final character standing in the Magic Kingdom bracket.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Similarly, Tigger was able to defeat Winnie the Pooh, though the battle was long and hard with several close calls. This means he shall face the outlaw Flynn Rider to decide who will make it into the Championship round to become the winner of March Madness 2015.

EPCOT

Though the battle was long and hard with the winner just barely winning, but in the last few minutes end the winner was decided for the EPCOT bracket. Her name is Rapunzel, the lost princess with a dream. Both characters deserved this victory and we honestly cannot believe that she beat Mary Poppins in the last few seconds.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Finally, facing Rapunzel, we have the friendly alien Stitch who was finally able to creep up on Mulan in the very end. It was a long and hard battle, but we think the alien deserves the honor that is bestowed upon him by reaching the Final Four.

Round 4 (Semi-Finals)

Disney-March-Madness-2015-bracket-4

Bracket for the Semi-Finals

The Semi-Finals are here! This means that you will be choosing the characters that move into the Final Four and represent their respective factions. You might not realize it, but this is one of the most important rounds in the game as it can both pave and destroy the path of your favorite character to victory. So, be careful as you make your choices!

(also, please fill in the info in the two text boxes at the bottom of this post to be notified when rounds begin and other exciting news pertaining to Disney Elimination!)

MAGIC KINGDOM

In the Magic Kingdom faction two of Disney’s most popular princesses, Belle and Anna, faced off against each other, but the most beautiful girl in town won the match. As well, Flynn Rider narrowly passed into the Semi-finals while Genie must remain behind in that tiny lamp of his.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Warning: hard decision upcoming. In the Animal Kingdom faction, Tigger dispatched his opponent, the happy snowman Olaf, and Winnie the Pooh barely did the same to the sassy dragon Mushu. Thus the two friends must face each other and only your votes can decide the winner.

EPCOT

The EPCOT faction throws two popular Disney heroines at each other in the Semi-finals. Rapunzel left WALL•E tangled back in the previous round while Mary Poppins defeated Peter Pan as fast as you can say ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!’

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Finally, in the Hollywood Studios faction Mulan crept up on Aladdin and finally surpassed her at the last second. Stitch led his match for the entire round, but Piglet remain close on his heels till the end, finally being the first of the Winnie the Pooh characters to be defeated.

Some difficult choices here, but I know you can do it. This round will decide who will move into the Finals… and represent their faction during the final four.

Round 3

Disney-March-Madness-2015-bracket-3

Bracket for Round 3

Round 3 is here and voting is once again open! Many great characters have already been eliminated, leaving only a few, but it’s not over yet. This round is very pivotal to who makes it to the finals, so please share with as many others as possible.

(As usual, here is a link to the characters in the bracket. Also, I’m trying to limit my advertising somewhat, so please consider signing up for the mailing list. You will only get updates on the new rounds, so it is worth it!)

Now, without further ado…

MAGIC KINGDOM

In the Magic Kingdom faction there were some hard battles, but in the end it all had to come to an end. Mickey Mouse tried his hardest to move on, but Anna swung a hard one at him and moved onto the next round. Robin Hood tried to escape and sneak into Round 3, but Belle was not so easily tricked and will be facing Anna in the next round.

Meanwhile, the ‘hakuna-matata’-ers, Timon & Pumbaa, could not handle the immense power of Genie and he sent them packing on a one way trip back to the Pride Lands. Meanwhile, Flynn Rider (who looks nothing like the posters portray, by the way) totally annihilated the little mermaid, Ariel, and is the final contestant from this faction in Round 3. It seems like there will be some more excellent face-offs in this round, so be ready.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Olaf easily beat Minnie Mouse by a landslide in the Animal Kingdom faction. The Beast and Tigger had a prolonged battle, but in the end the bouncy stuffed animal moved into the next round.

Likewise, Mushu and Baymax were a close call but in the end the fiery, sassy dragon is the one to proceed to Round 3. It seems like somebody doesn’t like lollipops. Winnie the Pooh, like his more crazed counterpart, will carry on to Round 3, leaving Tadashi to burn back in the last round. (Oh, wait, is it still too soon?)

EPCOT

EPCOT had some excellent opponents facing each other with some very interesting results. Rapunzel defeated the classic duo Woody & Buzz, but Tarzan was not so lucky against the maintenance service robot WALL•E who will proceed to Round 3.

Captain Jack Sparrow and Peter Pan were a long battle, but in the end the everlasting boy will fly on. Meanwhile, a surprising twist in the last poll occurred when Mary Poppins defeated Merida, who had been leading the poll, overnight and left her far in the dust. How it was done is a mystery, but the singing nanny will face another day.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

In the last faction, Hollywood Studios, Aladdin must have had some luck on his side because he easily defeated Donald Duck. In a similar fashion, Mulan surprised us all by defeating Frozen’s Kristoff and moving on to the next round.

One would almost think it was midnight, because Cinderella left the round rather quick against Piglet. Stitch and Tinker Bell faced off for a mostly tied up battle, but in the end the indestructible alien must move on.
