MAGIC KINGDOM

Leading the Magic Kingdom section is Moana, the daughter of the chief of Motonui. She will be facing Kristoff, the official ice master and deliverer of Arendelle in Round 2. Boo, the adorable human in Monsters, Inc., will face Baymax, the lovable, plush, superhero robot from Big Hero 6. It seems Dory has been found… in Round 2! No worries, though, because she will be facing Pumbaa, the carefree warthog from The Lion King. Finally, the good-at-heart bandit of Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood, will face the adorable Hawaiian owner of Stitch, Lilo!

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Now leading the Animal Kingdom section is Mowgli, the boy who befriended wild animals in the jungles of India. He will be facing Timon, the worry-free, hula-dancing meerkat. Judy Hopps, the bunny cop of Zootopia, will face Hiro Hamada, the superhero boy genius extraordinaire. It seems someone finally started following their dreams, because Flynn Rider will be facing the bouncy, trouncy, one-of-a-kind Tigger in Round 2. Finally, the boy who never grows up, Peter Pan, will face the funniest entertainer straight from the Arabian Nights themselves, Genie!

EPCOT

Now leading the Epcot section is Mike Wazowski, the new top employee in the Laugh Floor at Monsters, Incorporated. He will be facing Aladdin, a riff-raff, street rat heralding from the best fictional city in the world, Agrabah! Jiminy Cricket must have wished upon a star this time, because he will be facing Lumiere in Round 2. Simba, 2016’s runner-up, continues to make a roar this year. Joy, the happiest emotion inside of Riley’s head, will have quite the battle to defeat the King of the Pride Lands. Finally, the cursed prince himself, The Beast, will face kick-butt warrior of China, Mulan.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Last but not least, now leading the Hollywood Studios section is Nemo, the young clownfish who has a knack for being… and being found. He will be facing Merida, the Scottish princess and one of Disney’s most talented archers. Nick Wilde really hustled in Round 1 so he will face Belle, the most book-smart, yet compassionate Disney princess. Winnie the Pooh really has his match cut out for him with Mushu, the guardian dragon of Mulan. Finally comes the princess who shaped Disney, Cinderella, facing the grooviest and most sassy emperor of the Kuzconian empire in Peru, Kuzco.

Bracket for Round 6

I hope you have all had as much fun as I did during this magical month of March. I have some upcoming renovations and plans scheduled for this site, so please join the mailing list for continued emails on future elimination games.

MAGIC KINGDOM vs. ANIMAL KINGDOM

A showdown of epic proportions happened this past week with Magic Kingdom’s Flynn Rider and Animal Kingdom’s Tigger facing off in a battle to who would make it into the Championships. In the end, though, the bouncy tiger will move on, leaving Flynn Rider far behind in the dust.

EPCOT vs. HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Likewise, Flynn’s counterpart and EPCOT’s victor, Rapunzel, was defeated by Hollywood Studios’ Stitch who will face Tigger in the final battle for victor in the Championships. This is the last and final round, so choose wisely because whoever wins this next round will become victor.

Final Four (Round 5)

Disney-March-Madness-2015-bracket-5

Bracket for Round 5

Over the last four days the voting has been tough with some very close calls as the Elite Eight were narrowed down into Round 5, or what is often called the Final Four. This is a big moment, so I think it’d be a good time to stop and just think about what these characters have went through so far. Four rounds have come and go to decide who would stand in their places and I think from the general consensus that this has been a great experience for all. If you are one of those, consider sharing this with others and joining the mailing list if you haven’t already because I have some surprises I’m hoping I’ll be able to spring upon you after March Madness is over. Enjoy the Final Four and choose wisely because this round decides who makes it into the final Championship round.

MAGIC KINGDOM

The representative for the Magic Kingdom has been decided by the many voters who populate these polls at this time of year. In the end, though, Flynn Rider was able to evade Belle and become the final character standing in the Magic Kingdom bracket.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Similarly, Tigger was able to defeat Winnie the Pooh, though the battle was long and hard with several close calls. This means he shall face the outlaw Flynn Rider to decide who will make it into the Championship round to become the winner of March Madness 2015.

EPCOT

Though the battle was long and hard with the winner just barely winning, but in the last few minutes end the winner was decided for the EPCOT bracket. Her name is Rapunzel, the lost princess with a dream. Both characters deserved this victory and we honestly cannot believe that she beat Mary Poppins in the last few seconds.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Finally, facing Rapunzel, we have the friendly alien Stitch who was finally able to creep up on Mulan in the very end. It was a long and hard battle, but we think the alien deserves the honor that is bestowed upon him by reaching the Final Four.

Round 4 (Semi-Finals)

Disney-March-Madness-2015-bracket-4

Bracket for the Semi-Finals

The Semi-Finals are here! This means that you will be choosing the characters that move into the Final Four and represent their respective factions. You might not realize it, but this is one of the most important rounds in the game as it can both pave and destroy the path of your favorite character to victory. So, be careful as you make your choices!

(also, please fill in the info in the two text boxes at the bottom of this post to be notified when rounds begin and other exciting news pertaining to Disney Elimination!)

MAGIC KINGDOM

In the Magic Kingdom faction two of Disney’s most popular princesses, Belle and Anna, faced off against each other, but the most beautiful girl in town won the match. As well, Flynn Rider narrowly passed into the Semi-finals while Genie must remain behind in that tiny lamp of his.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Warning: hard decision upcoming. In the Animal Kingdom faction, Tigger dispatched his opponent, the happy snowman Olaf, and Winnie the Pooh barely did the same to the sassy dragon Mushu. Thus the two friends must face each other and only your votes can decide the winner.

EPCOT

The EPCOT faction throws two popular Disney heroines at each other in the Semi-finals. Rapunzel left WALL•E tangled back in the previous round while Mary Poppins defeated Peter Pan as fast as you can say ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!’

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Finally, in the Hollywood Studios faction Mulan crept up on Aladdin and finally surpassed her at the last second. Stitch led his match for the entire round, but Piglet remain close on his heels till the end, finally being the first of the Winnie the Pooh characters to be defeated.

Some difficult choices here, but I know you can do it. This round will decide who will move into the Finals… and represent their faction during the final four.

Round 3

Disney-March-Madness-2015-bracket-3

Bracket for Round 3

Round 3 is here and voting is once again open! Many great characters have already been eliminated, leaving only a few, but it’s not over yet. This round is very pivotal to who makes it to the finals, so please share with as many others as possible.

(As usual, here is a link to the characters in the bracket. Also, I’m trying to limit my advertising somewhat, so please consider signing up for the mailing list. You will only get updates on the new rounds, so it is worth it!)

Now, without further ado…

MAGIC KINGDOM

In the Magic Kingdom faction there were some hard battles, but in the end it all had to come to an end. Mickey Mouse tried his hardest to move on, but Anna swung a hard one at him and moved onto the next round. Robin Hood tried to escape and sneak into Round 3, but Belle was not so easily tricked and will be facing Anna in the next round.

Meanwhile, the ‘hakuna-matata’-ers, Timon & Pumbaa, could not handle the immense power of Genie and he sent them packing on a one way trip back to the Pride Lands. Meanwhile, Flynn Rider (who looks nothing like the posters portray, by the way) totally annihilated the little mermaid, Ariel, and is the final contestant from this faction in Round 3. It seems like there will be some more excellent face-offs in this round, so be ready.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Olaf easily beat Minnie Mouse by a landslide in the Animal Kingdom faction. The Beast and Tigger had a prolonged battle, but in the end the bouncy stuffed animal moved into the next round.

Likewise, Mushu and Baymax were a close call but in the end the fiery, sassy dragon is the one to proceed to Round 3. It seems like somebody doesn’t like lollipops. Winnie the Pooh, like his more crazed counterpart, will carry on to Round 3, leaving Tadashi to burn back in the last round. (Oh, wait, is it still too soon?)

EPCOT

EPCOT had some excellent opponents facing each other with some very interesting results. Rapunzel defeated the classic duo Woody & Buzz, but Tarzan was not so lucky against the maintenance service robot WALL•E who will proceed to Round 3.

Captain Jack Sparrow and Peter Pan were a long battle, but in the end the everlasting boy will fly on. Meanwhile, a surprising twist in the last poll occurred when Mary Poppins defeated Merida, who had been leading the poll, overnight and left her far in the dust. How it was done is a mystery, but the singing nanny will face another day.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

In the last faction, Hollywood Studios, Aladdin must have had some luck on his side because he easily defeated Donald Duck. In a similar fashion, Mulan surprised us all by defeating Frozen’s Kristoff and moving on to the next round.

One would almost think it was midnight, because Cinderella left the round rather quick against Piglet. Stitch and Tinker Bell faced off for a mostly tied up battle, but in the end the indestructible alien must move on.

Round 2

Disney-March-Madness-2015-bracket-2

Bracket for Round 2

Round 1 has come to a close and the final decision for who should be eliminated and who should move on has been determined. Now it is time to begin once again to determine who should move into Round 3 and who should be left behind. As before, there are pictures here if you still don’t know who some of the characters are or just want to jog your memory. One vote per day only and any others will not be counted. Also, if you’d like to be part of the action please comment on the characters you’re hoping for in the comments section below. Trust me, it makes the experience much more exciting. As well, please try and spread to as many as others as this couldn’t happen without the continual support of those who are as excited by Disney as I am.

Last note, at the bottom of the page (beneath all the polls and such) you will notice two text boxes for you to enter your information in. Once you do this you will be notified whenever the rounds are ending and the new rounds begin. This will help you become more informed and give you a quicker chance to become part of the rounds.

MAGIC KINGDOM

Some excellent competition ensued in this faction with characters such as Mickey Mouse, Jiminy Cricket, Simba, and Genie. But, with the help of all the voters, some hard decisions had to be made and characters eliminated.

First, the Disney mascot Mickey Mouse took away any chance of Jasmine’s whole new world by defeating her. Following in her sister’s footsteps, Anna moves on to Round 2 after a close call with Jiminy Cricket. Meanwhile, Robin Hood breezed past Bagheera to victory. The beauty Belle faced the king of the Jungle, Simba, but rushed past to the next round. In the next match-up, James P. Sullivan was unable to frighten Timon & Pumbaa away from Round 2 and they sped their way past, while Genie easily defeated the wooden boy Pinocchio with a snap of his fingers. Ariel swam circles around Dumbo, leaving him in the dust and proceeding to be part of the world of the next round. Finally, Flynn Rider snuck right beneath the nose of Nemo, stealing the victory from him on his way.

Round 2 continues with even harder decisions and tough victories. Who will move on to Round 3 and who will be left behind?

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Probably some of the closest calls came in this faction. With classic characters such as Minnie Mouse, The Beast, Tigger, Mushu, Winnie the Pooh, and Lady & Tramp, adjoined with newcomers to the Disney world like Olaf, Baymax, and Tadashi, many of the matches were tied throughout the time.

Beginning with Minnie Mouse, she outmatched Ursula with her simple charm and cheerful composure. Olaf’s summer is seeming more possible after having defeated the super strength god Hercules. One of last year’s top four, The Beast, easily defeated Vanellope von Schweetz, while Tigger bounced right past Mike Wazowski to Round 2. The only way to protect Mulan was to move to Round 2, and that is exactly what he did against Princess Aurora. Big Hero 6’s Baymax almost didn’t make it to Round 2, but Kuzco was cursed with a slow gain of votes until the very end. Winnie the Pooh had the power of many supporters to bring him to Round 2, while The Incredibles were not so lucky even if the match was dangerously close. Lastly, it seems there’s no burn for Tadashi this time as he scooted past Lady & Tramp at the very last second.

Some excellent, or dare I say incredible, matches ensued in this category, but there must be a winner so many great characters were left behind as half move on. Here’s to hoping for more luck in the next round for your favorite characters.

EPCOT

This faction had some great characters including classics (such as Goofy, Bambi, Tarzan, Peter Pan, and Snow White), Disney newcomers (including Rapunzel, Hiro Hamada, Wreck-it Ralph, and Tiana), and Pixar favorites (like Woody & Buzz, WALL•E, Marlin & Dory, and Merida). Many of these rounds juggled back and forth between who would win, being only decided at the last second, while other characters had landslide victories.
It seems that Rapunzel’s life began with a surprising win against the popular Goofy. For awhile Hiro Hamada held the victory, but at the last second the toys Woody & Buzz used teamwork to sneak past. WALL•E is very resilient, as shown by his defeat of heavyweight Wreck-it Ralph. Somewhere in the forest Tarzan was able to beat his way past Bambi, though the race to the lead was very close throughout the round. Captain Jack Sparrow had no problem beating Tiana, probably due to his large fanbase. Disney’s first princess Snow White tried her hardest, but Peter Pan still flew into the next round without breaking a sweat. Marlin & Dory were a little more successful than her, but Mary Poppins did not allow them to get the best of her. Lastly, the chief’s daughters Merida and Pocahontas battled it out with a very close call, but the Scottish princess won her way into Round 2 in the end.
Which of these will you show your support for next? It seems some very tough battles will ensue in Round 3, but who will make it there to see them?

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

This faction had the most variety of the four. Not only did it have classics (such as Donald Duck, Tod & Copper, Aladdin, Piglet, and Baloo), newcomers (like Kristoff), and Pixar favorites (Dug), but it also had a large array of villains and princesses including Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Hades, Cinderella, and Mulan. The competition was fierce, but the winners were decided over the past few days by the participants.

For starters, Donald Duck defeated Tod & Copper with his attitude still intact. Aladdin didn’t even need to use one of his wishes on Maleficent, though the fight started out a little ugly with a very close call. The newcomer to March Madness, Kristoff, defeated Cruella de Vil without much trouble. Hades as well lost to Mulan who fooled him to gain the victory. What’s this? Jack Skellington got trampled beneath the glass slippers of Cinderella who beat him by a landslide. Baloo and Piglet were much closer during their fight, but the pig won even if it shook him up a bit. Stitch and Dug came closest to each other during their fight, but in the end Experiment 626 took the triumph for himself. It seems a lot of voters believe in fairies, because Tinker Bell defeated Alice Liddell right from the beginning without even having to use pixie dust.

Some difficult votes are ahead. Are you ready for some hard choices? I hope you are, because this is nothing to how Round 3 will be.
