Round 6 – CHAMPIONSHIP

 

THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND IS HERE!!!! 😀 For several weeks the voting has been on. Many good characters fell this year. I am sad that my counterpart, The Beast, was taken out. So close to victory too. Oh well, these characters both deserve the victory just as well. Can I hear a round of applause for James P. Sullivan and Queen Elsa?!

THIS is the last round. Now is the time to decide the final victor. I have a hunch who it will be, but you can go ahead and surprise me! Again, thank you all for your participation in the first year of my Disney March Madness. If you enjoyed it, please leave a quick comment so I know if I should do it again next year. Round 4 – Semi Finals

 

The Semi Finals are here!!!  Vote for your favorite character to see who will make it as victor of each of the four factions: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. Who will make it, and who will be left in the dust?

 

In Magic Kingdom the magic is certainly on Mickey’s side. Defeating his previous opponent, Rapunzel, with just a little ease, he will now have to face the fan favorite Mary Poppins, the flying nanny who almost had a taste of her own medicine against Belle. Which of the two will emerge as the victor of the Magic Kingdom faction?
Dug has stupided his way up the polls with his charm, loyalty, and funny voice, but he must now go head-to-head to fellow Pixar character, James P. Sullivan, aka Sully. The monster holds the scare record for scaring away the most Animal Kingdom characters, but will he have a chance to make it to the finals?
Vroom, vroom! Vanellope just made it out of Round 3 alive, but The Beast is not one to be so easily defeated. Which of the two famous characters will make it to the finals for a possibility of being this year’s victor?
Flynn Rider just stole past the scalawag pirate, Jack Sparrow, but the ever popular Queen Elsa is next on the list. He charmed the beautiful Rapunzel, but Elsa is cold and unfamiliar with his ways. Will he be able to make it past her shards of ice to take the crown, or will Elsa be the one to skate her way into the finals?

Round 3

 

Round 3 is here! We are down to sixteen contestants: Mickey Mouse, Rapunzel, Mary Poppins, Belle, Simba, Dug, Mike Wazowski, Sully, Tinker Bell, Vanellope von Schweetz, Nemo, The Beast, Flynn Rider, Boo, annnnnnd…. Elsa!!! The next round is one of the most difficult: the final eight. YOU DECIDE WHO MOVES ON, so decide carefully.

Round 2

MAGIC KINGDOM

In the Magic Kingdom bracket we saw some excellent match-ups between much loved characters such as Mary Poppins, Mickey Mouse, Rapunzel, and Timon & Pumbaa, not to mention many others. Mickey Mouse easily handled the blue alien, Stitch, but will he outlast the Native American princess, Pocahontas?

Mary Poppins dished Todd & Copper a spoon full of sugar of a time, beating them without a fight. Rapunzel and Captain Hook also swept past their opponents without much of a sweat. Until the hour Round 1 closed, though, no one was sure whether Mr. Tumnus would be able to gain on Timon & Pumbaa who only just managed to make it past. Will these two ‘Hakuna Matata-ers” be able to use this same luck against Mary Poppins? It looks like we’ll need YOU to decide!
ANIMAL KINGDOM

Animal Kingdom saw some great conflict as well. The team representative, Simba, got past Ariel without much trouble, but Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, and Robin Hood were not so lucky. The two Monsters Inc. heroes, Sully and Mike Wazowski, both have to defeat but one opponent and they shall face each other in the battle as to who is the ultimate scarer.

Meanwhile, two much loved Pixar characters, Woody and Dug, must face-off, the winner of this facing either Simba and Baloo. I could see this becoming a bit of a challenge for some voters as I know it will be for me.
EPCOT

Tinker Bell in the Epcot bracket had just enough pixie dust to get out of the way of Mr. Incredible’s fist, but will she be able to do it again with the much-loved Donald Duck? Vanellope von Schweetz had a hard battle with Mulan to move onto the next round, but at the last moment she pulled ahead. Will the Sugar Rush hero even have a chance against the space ranger from Infinity and Beyond?

Unfortunately, Vanellope’s best buddy, Stinker Face (wait, errrr, Wreck-it Ralph), was not as fortunate, falling to be trampled under the wheels of hotshot Lightning McQueen. Will the rookie have just enough speed to outrun the others to the #1 spot? Nemo and Jafar easily passed by their opponents, but when they face each other shall it be so easy? The Beast easily destroyed the captain of Flying Dutchman, but his next opponent is not so easily defeated. You must decide.
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

In the Hollywood Studios bracket we saw some disappointment among some fans when the team representative, Winnie the Pooh, fell to Disney newcomer, Olaf, the snowman who loves warm hugs. The snowman may have been able to defeat the team leader, but the professional thief (who looks nothing like all the posters portray, btw), Flynn Rider, is going to be a hard match for the warm loving snowman. Meanwhile, the trash compactor, WALL-E, must face the ever popular Captain Jack Sparrow in a battle to Round 3. Which will make it?

Maleficent was able to crush Bambi beneath her iron fist, but now she has to face the Monsters Inc. stowaway, Boo—something is telling me the child will be more than she bargained with. Elsa froze Merida in Round 1, but she may have to let it go to have a chance against the jungle man, Tarzan. Will he be able to swing around her ever-growing powers, or will the Queen of Arendelle be the one to move on?

This is the bracket for this year’s Disney March Madness! If you notice the line connecting pairs of all the characters, this is because they are the opponents they will be facing in Round 1. After every round is over the name of the victor will be put on the next line, facing the next opponent to who their name is connected. Comment below for better instructions!

Yes, this is one GREAT cast of characters. As this is a competition, though, there can only be one winner. Along with the rest of the majority that visit this site this March and April of 2014, you must help choose who shall be the lucky crowned winner until next March.
